Pink is For Grown Ups

Pink is For Grown Ups

I love the color pink and I'm not 6 years old.

The color pink is often equated with little girls.  The funny thing is my favorite color was purple when I was a little girl. It wasn't until I was an adult that I fell in love with pink.  Over the years I've seen it go in and out of fashion, but in my world, the color pink will always be in fashion.

Hi, I'm Kem. I love the color pink and I'm not ashamed! Pink makes me happy and it plays well with my other favorite colors; orange and red.

Just look at the way it dominates my home decor.

What can I say? I like pink and I'm not 7 years old, and that's okay. My home is my happy place and my happy place is bathed in the color pink.  And also, orange, and red. Why pink? I'm drawn to it, if it's pink, it's got my attention, and as it turns out, there's a bit of psychology behind the color.

At the risk of oversharing, I bought my car because of the color, and the size, but I'll get more into my obsession with tiny things in another post. This car was pink, but not in an obnoxious way. I was just scrolling through small car options online and BAM! Love at first sight.

Meet Penelope, the car of my dreams. I was once asked what car would I drive if I could drive anything? And I answered, I'm driving it.  This answer was followed by blank stares because I assume that question is usually answered with names of exotic luxury cars like Tesla, Maserati or Bugatti.  All swoon worthy options, for sure, but when I dream, I dream in the color pink, and this little number is the star of my show. What can I say? Sometimes all it takes is simple things to make me happy.

Isn't she just adorable! She's 2013 Chevy Spark in the original body style. Chevy calls the paint color Techno Pink.  Pink you say? I didn't stand a chance at the dealership. This little beauty had me at 'Hello'.  She is literally two of my favorite things, pink and tiny. Anyone who knows me says that this car is the exact reflection of my personality. Enough said!
