This Lazy Girl's Guide to: Wine Down Wednesdays

Okay, so this Wednesday came up and beat me like I stole something. It was a clutch the pearls kind of day, my goodness was it rough. So this post isn't so much about wine, as it is a rant describing my day with an explanation as to how wine is going to save it.

Shall we begin?

First I overslept, then as I was less than 4 or 5 steps from my car the heavens opened and dumped buckets of rain on me.  As I tried to hold onto my umbrella, several massive gusts of wind tried to blow me off the parking deck. I was literally holding my umbrella on my head like a hat while trying to get the car door open with my free hand. A free hand  connected to an arm that was holding a purse, a cell phone and 3 flattened Amazon boxes. Did I mention the backpack that I'd draped over my shoulder?

I got the door open, hurled myself and all my gear inside just as my umbrella flipped upward dumping 1/2 a sheet of rain on one side of my face and hair.  All that effort trying to protect my freshly done 'do just for it to end up looking like a lopsided afterthought.  One part stretched and limp, one part big and frizzy, neither part the look I was going for.  Not only that, my favorite Steve Maddens were full of water and I was soggy.

Just as I was about to put the key into the ignition, I realized that my phone wasn't in my purse. It must have fallen out and onto the ground. It was still coming down outside....do I dare open the car door and risk another weather smack down? I had no choice, a girl's gotta have her phone. So I opened the door, grabbed my mangled umbrella and jumped out only to see my phone hanging out in the biggest puddle around. Oh, and as I stood up to get back into the car, my slip fell to my ankles and I broke a nail while trying to pick it up.

I cranked up the car, let out a scream or 6, and soldiered on to work.

Nobody ever said adulting was easy, but at least adults get to have WINE.

Today's selection is a lovely full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon or Cab Sav if you will.  Cabernet Sauvignon offers the flavors of dark fruits and spices.  Cabs are hearty, so they can pair well with beef, think steak or braised ribs.  However tonight this Cab is pairing with my glass and going directly into my face.  Some nights it just ain’t about being fancy.  I had a cheeseburger in the car on the way home and I'm finishing my night with a great glass of Red.

Enough said.
